I have read several of the posts on this blog and they're really good. I so agree with everything you say.

We do eat way too much. I am overweight, but I never used to be before moving to the States. The portions here are huge - and as a result I think I have trained my stomach to want more food.

Nowadays I seldom eat out, but am concious that I give us way too much food. I have begun leaving food on my plate - but I need to not serve it up in the first place!

Just as a side thought, Americans need to start eating like the Brits, with a knife and fork, instead of using the fork like a shovel. It definitely slows down the eating process, always a good thing, and makes you feel fuller.
